Bantam Bread

Bantam Bread was a great establishment but probably not a right fit for Plainville.
Councilwoman Helen Bergenty typifies local/provincial "thinking" when she stated a preference for Dunkin' Donuts or Bess Eaton shop. (Don't we have enough of those already?) The bottom line is Bantam Bread is a class establishment and the citizenry of Plainville is not wordly enough to recogize that. I give the owners a lot of credit for trying but they might have had more success in the Farmington Valley.
Plainville is a second-rate town....always has been.

bakery and plainville

If Bantam bread had products that were more in line with Rogers choice and price range they could have survived. I had a standing order for a long rye with seeds and hard rolls but Bantam did not offer these items. There is no doubt that Rogers brought people into the center of town. I don't think that Plainville is a second rate town but lately we sure do have a lot of boneheaded ideas that just waste money and have the town headed in the wrong financial direction! It seems as though we are using plastic and no one thinks about how and when we can pay for all the spending that this town has been doing. I just do not understand how our leaders, both elected and hired think that little old Plainville can continue to support the pay increases that are being handed out on the education side of the budget. I realize that some people never have enough but how about just being thankful for having a good paying job where you work 180 days a year in a climate controlled atmosphere. Wouldn't it be nice if people would work together, hold off on pay raises until this country can get rid of the administration that is RUINING the country and hopefully get someone with half a brain to lead us back to civility and prosperity.
